The Sapphire Valley Resort Activity Field is located adjacent to the Community Center and Recreation Center and includes:

Fairfield Lake is approximately 80 acres in size, 1 mile long and 35' deep at the deepest part.
The lake built in 1895. Before this it was a secluded watershed valley where gold and precious gems were mined. Georgetown Mine was the name of the mining 'town' and remains of the mining operations were flooded and remain to this day on the bottom of the lake
Fun for the entire family! As we say, if you can kick a ball, you can play Foot Golf! Foot Golf is played on the 9 hole Red Bird course with special, oversized, pins and cups. Score Foot Golf just like golf - par 3 - par 4, etc.

Red Bird's 32 acre 9 hole executive course boasts 6 par 3's and 3 par 4's. It's easy to walk and beautifully set along the picturesque Horsepasture River.
The Resort's 18 hole facility is the Sapphire National Golf Club.
Always a treat for the young and more mature golfers, Sapphire Valley's Putt Putt course is located at the Recreation Center.
his is considered an easy hike of about 3.2 miles. The trail is part gravel road and then just maintained trails through the woods. There is a very slight elevation gain as you rise up and cross over the bridge at Fairfield Falls.
Pickleball is a paddle sport that combines elements of badminton, tennis, and table tennis. Two or four players use solid paddles made of wood or composite materials to hit a perforated polymer ball, similar to a Wiffle Ball, over a net. The sport shares features of other racquet sports, the dimensions and layout of a badminton court, and a net and rules somewhat similar to tennis, with several modifications.
